THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! Healthcare costs are skyrocketing. Long Islanders already face a worsening cost-of-living crisis. The Bully’s Brutal Budget Bill is harming millions of New Yorkers. Thousands have lost access to healthcare coverage. Medications. Childcare. Food Stamps.
What happens now? In New York we have an important role in fundamentally reshaping an exploitative health system.
With a few 'clicks', email your representatives letting them know that we need healthcare for all of New York! & not tax cuts for greedy billionaires!
We want to invest in nurses and allow doctors to get back to medicine instead of managing insurance company denials. What is healthcare for, Patients or Profits

Together We Mourn the Dead, and Fight for the Living!
A Candlelight Vigil Memorial Friday evening June 5th, 7:30 to 8:30 pm
Outside Nassau University Medical Center 2201 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow
Join with fellow Long Islanders as we remember those who’ve died because our health care system failed them. Bring a candle-in-a-jar or phone-flashlight, and come share a personal story about someone you know who passed away because they couldn’t get the health care they needed.
Note: This event is not a negative comment on the quality of care provided by this hospital. In fact, as Nassau County’s only public hospital, it is a valued community institution that needs our support in order to continue to serve everyone regardless of ability to pay, and despite recent political scandals.
Why this Vigil: We all know that our health care system is fundamentally broken and needs radical change that everyone wants (except those who profit from the status quo.) As a result, millions of us suffer with unnecessary illness, and thousands die every year because our health care system fails us.
What WE Can Do Together: It doesn’t have to be this way. We need a health care system that provides ALL OF US comprehensive, quality, affordable, and accessible health care when and where we need it. Every other advanced nation does it, and so can we here in the US – we just have to make the political choice to take action
This Fall…
✓ We can elect new leaders at all levels of government who are committed to fundamentally fixing our broken health care system in ways that serve us and not the special interests.
✓ We will be electing our next Congress, and we need them to be health care champions who fight to guarantee our health care rather than taking it away.
✓ We will be electing our next Governor and State Legislature, and we need them to step up to the plate to protect our health care, and lead the way on new ideas.
THIS FALL, we can all “Vote for Health Care!”
