Open to both DSA members and non-members, Long Island DSA invites LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, friends, and allies to join us in celebrating the history and ongoing struggle for queer and transgender liberation. Bring a picnic blanket or just bring yourself! Hosted by our Socialist Queer and Feminist Working Group, this event centers on community and solidarity, standing in contrast to pink-washed, exclusionary Pride events co-opted by rainbow capitalism or lacking intersectionality in the fight for justice, safety, dignity, and respect for all. We’ll offer refreshments, arts, healthcare tabling, games, and free book and clothing swaps, (bring items to donate and take what you need). This is a space to relax, connect, and recharge during challenging times when our communities must remain strong and united. Entry is free, option to donate to support further trans organizing.
